I am excited to start sharing my knowledge, experience, and expertise to so many people out there who are in constant need of information on how to go about simple daily work-life balance. In this blog, I intent to share basic but specialized information on trending, experiences, and learning that will benefit me, you, and all of us about public health laboratory systems in particular, public health interventions in general.

To introduce myself, I am a public health enthusiast who spent most of my adult life working for public health institutions and organizations to help prevent, and monitor emerging diseases and pandemic of public health interest. I have worked in multiple countries in Africa (Ghana, Namibia, Zambia) and lead multiple public health projects in over 34 countries in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East, while mentoring many young and upcoming colleagues interested in public health work. In my work, I have focused extensively on designing, managing, implementing, and monitoring performance of laboratory-based activities and programs. My experience varies across multiple types and facets of laboratory practices.  This includes pharmaceutical quality control, clinical diagnostics, animal health, chemical analysis, environmental protection, and disease surveillance laboratory systems evolution.

Outside the laboratory landscape, I have managed multiple donor-funded programs under United States Government Procurement Regulation, including AID Acquisition Regulation (AIDR), focusing ADR 300 series, Global Fund for AIDS TB and Malaria Pronouncement Guidelines and other national and regionally donor-funded acquisition and project management guidelines.  Working for President Bush's AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), the Malaria Initiative (PMI), and Gates Foundation, I have effectively directed and managed more than $50 M annual budget culminating at over $500 M  ($0.5 B) program implemented over 10 years.  Procurement and Supply Management (PSM), focusing on long term forecasting and quantification, supply planning, good distribution and storage practices and designing national-level logistics and supply chain systems are areas of my special interests.
